Getting to Martha's Vineyard
To get to Martha’s Vineyard you either take a ferry boat ride (with or without a car) or fly. There is no bridge to the island. If you are bringing your car to the Island, you must have a ferry reservation! While it is possible to call up to one hour prior to sailing time to reserve a space for your car it is highly unlikely during the season to find an open spot.
We strongly suggest placing your Steamship Authority Reservation as soon as your hotel reservation is confirmed.
If you drive, you can park on the mainland in one of the Steamship Authority parking lots and walk-on to the ferry as a passenger. When the lot at the Steamship terminal in Woods Hole is full, additional parking is available at three off-site lots in Bourne and Falmouth. Shuttle service is provided to the ticket terminal and ferry dock, but you should allow extra time.
